Having a breast augmentation will enlarge naturally small breasts and can restore breast volume lost after pregnancy, breast feeding or significant weight loss. Having this surgery is designed to help improve one’s self-image and allow a woman to feel better about herself.
We offer several different types of implants, including silicone, saline, and form-stable implants. All options of implants we offer will increase fullness and the projection of the breasts.
A breast augmentation is a great option to boost self-confidence, make tops fit in a more flattering manner, as well as add balance to the body, overall. You will need to meet with Dr. Krummen for a consultation to determine the right type of implant as well as the appropriate volume of implant for your body. At your consultation Dr. Krummen will address your personal goals, your health history, as well as everything you can expect during surgery and recovery afterwards.
When you look in the mirror, you want to see a face that reflects how you feel and see yourself. Aging, genetics, lifestyle, and environmental factors can interfere with the real you shining through. Facelift surgery, performed by your trusted Cincinnati plastic surgeon, Dr. Donna Krummen, can bring your inner beauty to the forefront.
Facelift, or rhytidectomy, surgically rejuvenates the face by repositioning mid-facial tissue over bony structures. This procedure addresses many of the common complaints that men and women face due to aging, including:
- Jowls, or sagging along the jawline.
- An overall appearance of sagging from the cheeks to the neck.
- Deep lines and creases around the nose and mouth.
- Loose skin beneath the chin, resulting in a double-chin appearance.
A facelift is a restorative procedure for facial rejuvenation. You still look like you; there are no changes to the fundamental appearance of your face.
Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is performed to correct the signs of aging that affect the appearance of the eyes. With age, the contour of the eyelids may change significantly due to the loss of firmness in the uppermost layers of skin tissue. The decrease in skin elasticity can lead to hooding of the upper eyelid and the prolapse of fat on the lower lids, leading to persistent puffiness.
Dr. Krummen is a board-certified plastic surgeon who offers friendly, professional care to men and women from Cincinnati and surrounding areas. Her extensive training makes her an excellent resource for patients seeking eyelid rejuvenation.
Eyelid surgery is generally performed to improve the cosmetic appearance of the eyes that have changed with age. There are instances in which blepharoplasty is performed for functional reasons, to lift sagging tissue that has begun to interfere with vision or eye health.
Blepharoplasty may focus on the upper eyelids or the lower lids, depending on need. In some cases, both the upper and lower lids are rejuvenated in a single procedure. To achieve the best outcome, Dr. Krummen may remove fatty tissue from the eyelid area before the removal of extra skin to reveal a smoother surface.
In our Cincinnati cosmetic surgery practice, we meet with men and women who feel frustrated. They have put in the time at the gym, and have developed good eating habits, but continue to struggle with that last little bit of abdominal looseness. This common complaint is one we can resolve with abdominoplasty.
Tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, is a cosmetic surgery procedure that Cincinnati Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Donna Krummen performs to reveal the toned abs that are beneath loose connective tissue. The muscles and ligaments may have become weak over time due to the aging process, pregnancy, or weight gain. This weakness may not be fully corrected with diet and exercise. Abdominoplasty gets to the source of laxity, the abdominal wall, and re-drapes tissue in a smoother, tighter fashion.
The tummy tuck surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure. Patients are asleep during the surgery and monitored by the anesthesiologist, who administers general anesthesia. In addition to general anesthesia, a local anasthetic may also be administered to further the comfort of the process.
Abdominoplasty typically involves a hip-to-hip incision. This can be hidden beneath undergarments. To reach the abdominal wall, incisions are made through the skin and the fascia, tissue that lies over muscles. The muscles of the abdomen are then tightened and anchored into place. Skin between the belly button and pubic area may be removed to create a smoother surface. In some cases, the belly button is repositioned after skin removal. In total, the process usually takes about three hours.
Stubborn fat can be hard to get rid of. Diet, exercise and genetics play a key role in the amount of adipose tissue (fat) your body keeps deposited in areas of your body. Liposuction is the surgical removal of excess fat from areas of the body, thus revealing a new contour, and a slimmer and more attractive body shape. Liposuction is a great way to address the areas of your body that are causing your clothes to feel uncomfortable as well as to define your overall silhouette.
During this procedure, fat is suctioned out of specific areas of the body. This not only gets rid of the fat, it changes your shape, bringing it into proportion with the rest of your body. You’ll feel more comfortable with your body and more confident in your appearance. This procedure can be done alone or in combination with other plastic surgical procedures such as facelifts, tummy tucks and breast reductions.
At your consultation Dr. Krummen will address your personal goals, your health history as well as everything you can expect during surgery and recovery afterwards.
Botox is a great preventative treatment for ladies (and gents) as they enter their 30’s and beyond. Eliminating the onset of deeper wrinkles by starting your Botox® and skin care routine now will pay off immensely in decades to come. This facial rejuvenation treatment provides you with an affordable method to reverse the signs of aging, helping you look your very best.
The active ingredient, Botulinum toxin type A, works to block the nerves which cause your facial muscles to contract. These muscle contractions are responsible for the formation of many facial wrinkles. By temporarily paralyzing your facial muscles, BOTOX® can help soften the wrinkles that have developed over a period of time.If you would like to restore a more youthful facial appearance, but aren’t ready for an extensive plastic surgery procedure like a face lift, then a BOTOX® treatments may be right for you.
Kybella is a non-surgical way to get rid of moderate to severe fat below the chin. Submental fat, also called a “double chin” can be permanently banished after just a few syringes of Kybella. The appearance of a double chin adds the look of substantial weight to a person’s overall physique. With the development of Kybella you can now erase the submental fullness with a non-surgical, yet permanent treatment.
Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)
Gynecomastia is a condition where a man’s breasts become enlarged. It’s a condition that can cause great embarrassment and social isolation for men. They feel self-conscious about their appearance and avoid activities that require them to be shirtless in public. Some breast enlargement is normal in boys hitting puberty, but it should resolve itself by the time the boy turns 18. In some men, however, surgery may be the only option. Gynecomastia surgery, also known as the male breast reduction is a surgical reduction of male breast tissue.
Gynecomastia surgery reduces breast size in men, flattening and enhancing the chest contours. In severe cases of gynecomastia, the weight of excess breast tissue may cause the breasts to sag and stretch the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple). In these cases the position and size of the areola can be surgically improved and excess skin may be reduced. At your consultation Dr. Krummen will address your personal goals, the amount of reduction needed for your specific body, your health history, as well as everything you can expect during surgery and recovery afterwards.
A mommy makeover combines a variety of surgical procedures that target the body areas most affected by pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. These procedures are combined into a single surgical session, making for just a single recovery. Dr. Krummen’s mommy makeovers are tailored to each individual patient, but they generally include a tummy tuck, breast lift with or without augmentation, and liposuction.
A breast lift is a surgical procedure that raises and firms the breast by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. The breast lift can also reduce the size of the areola (the pigmented skin around the nipple). A breast lift won’t make your breasts bigger, but it will take what nature gave you and point it in the right direction. If desired, it can often be combined with a breast augmentation.
Breast reduction, also known as reduction mammoplasty, is a cosmetic procedure that Dr. Krummen performs to decrease the size of one or both breasts. The procedure involves careful removal of breast tissue and fat and, as needed, the slight refinement of overlying skin. This surgery can also offer women relief from feelings of self-consciousness about their appearance. Moreover, thousands of women undergo this procedure each year and achieve a more proportioned look with surgery.
A body lift is a surgical procedure to restore the shape and tone of the underlying tissue that supports the fat and skin of the abdomen, buttocks and thighs. Excess sagging fat and skin are removed from multiple areas to give patients a “body lift”.
Often the patient requires a combination of an abdominoplasty and a posterior lift to achieve the necessary body sculpting. For some, armlift or thighlift may be beneficial. One surgery does not fit all, and sometime liposuction maybe an option as well.
